ABP News is an Indian Hindi news channel owned by ABP Group. It was formerly known as STAR News before being acquired by ABP Group. Anand Bazar Patrika Group, owned by Prafulla, Ashok and Aveek Sarkar, and Suresh Chandra Mazumdar. The head office of ABP News channel is located at Noida in India.

Formally, the news channel was known as Star News, launched in 1998. Star News Channel was operated by Star and NDTV initially. But, the contract between Star and NDTV channel gets expired in 2003. Which results in the formation of ABP News as a Hindi language channel.

It is providing news services on television in two languages; Hindi and English.

In 2004, the Star group re-enter into as a Joint Venture with Ananda Bazar Patrika and created a company called Media Content and Communication Services Pvt. Ltd.

The newly formed company took the responsibility to run and manage the Star News channel. ABP group owns about 70% of this JV, whereas the remaining is owned by the Star.

On 1 June 2012, the Media Content and Communications rebranded Star News as ABP news.
